FAQ
Q Tilt Sensor / Inclinometer

1. No Data Output?

Reason:Possible causes of no output: Product not powered on; product wiring contact problem; incorrect product wiring; incorrect communication parameters; incorrect software usage; incompatible customer hardware; product malfunction.

Answer:General troubleshooting steps:

① Confirm the device model. After confirming the device model, please check if the power supply and wiring contacts are normal; confirm the usage environment, please test it on a computer via USB.

② Confirm the default protocol parameters. Generally, for a tilt angle of 68 degrees, the protocol is: 9600 N 8 1, default address 0; for Modbus (MB) protocol, it is: 9600 E 8 1. Some parameters may have been modified in previous tests; please recall if any modifications were made.

③ Confirm the wiring definition. Check what interface it is. If it is RS232 or TTL, remember to cross the communication lines, and that the power ground and signal ground share a common ground (generally, our signal ground and power ground are the same; please run the wire from the negative terminal). In RS485: D+ corresponds to A, and D- corresponds to B.

④ Confirm the software interface and check if the parameters are correct. Similar to step 2, refer to the software operation manual for some software-related issues. A common problem is the MB protocol checksum.

2. Angle Value Abnormalities?

Answer:① Incorrect Installation Direction: Check if the product is installed correctly. Set it back to absolute zero and see what happens.

② Incorrect Software Resolution: Some customers are using our host computer. For the general model, the software's real-time data section will have options for range and resolution. Refer to the device model for range; resolution: 0.01 (MCA, LCA, SCA). For other high-precision settings, refer to the specifications.

③ Incorrect Resolution by the Customer's Software: Please use our software for comparison testing.

Q 3D Electronic Compass

1. No Output?
Answer:Reference Tilt Sensor Handling

2. Azimuth Accuracy Issue?

Reason:Environmental Influence; Lack of Calibration; Unstable Power Supply; Calibration Method and Requirements

Answer:① Please test in an open area, away from other equipment; it's also possible that the product used by the customer for accuracy comparison is magnetic (like a mobile phone pointer); multiple compasses should not be tested together, as this may cause interference.

② In general, it's recommended to recalibrate in different locations with significant differences. Calibration precautions and requirements can be found in the shared calibration video; basic requirements: one full revolution, time exceeding 20 seconds, no power interruption during the process.

③ Unstable power supply voltage may cause azimuth angle fluctuations, leading to inaccuracy.

④ Errors during calibration may cause data anomalies; recalibration can resolve this.

Q Gyroscope

1. No output?
Answer:Reference Tilt Sensor processing

2. Angle drift?

Answer:① The product did not start from a standstill, resulting in abnormal data.

② The product itself will have a certain amount of time drift and will also be affected by vibration, etc. This drift will occur, and specific situations require specific handling.

③ The usage environment has vibration, etc.

Q Digital Inclinometer

1. Unable to Power On?
Self Inspection:Is the device powered on? Are the buttons tactile?

2. Angle Value Abnormalities?

Answer:① Angle Value Stuck: Try the reset button or restart to see if it recovers. If not, the product is faulty.

② Accuracy Deviation: Some digital displays require setting latitude, etc. Check if the latitude is set. Please confirm if you have manually cleared the absolute zero point. If you have, inquire about the situation. Zeroing the device needs to be performed on a high-precision platform; otherwise, it will cause this type of problem.

③ Incorrect Data Values: Please check if the zeroing button has been pressed at large angles.

Data Value Fluctuations: Check if the product was tested while stationary. The device needs to be used while stationary. If stationary, some devices allow adjustment of the internal output frequency; please lower the frequency.

Q Accelerometer / Vibration Sensor

1. No output?
Answer:Reference tilt angle section

2. Abnormal acceleration value?

Answer:① Confirm that the product software model is correct.

② When stationary, there is a G on the Z-axis, which is normal and represents gravitational acceleration.

Please check the wiring and module for proper functioning. Cables with RS232 interfaces should not exceed 10 meters. RS485 cables that are too long require a common ground.
